Governor plug failures are often caused by oil 和 dirt from normal engine operation, strong cleansers 和 high-pressure water 和 steam used for engine cleaning; all which can penetrate governor plugs 和 cause the connectors to short out. Wabtec governor plug protectors:
- Provide a water-tight seal
- Protect the plug from penetration by disruptive elements
- Help support the cable to relieve stress on the plug connection
- Are easily installed in the field using the installation tool without removing the plug from the cable
